The Transportation Security Services team at VMD Corp helps to protect travelers at home and abroad. We are part of the nation’s critical air travel infrastructure, providing security services at multiple airports in the United States.

As a VMD Corp Transportation Security Officer (TSO) you will protect air travelers, airports, and aircraft by performing a variety of passenger and baggage screening security tasks. These responsibilities include identifying dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and/ or on the passengers themselves, and preventing those objects from being transported aboard the aircraft. VMD TSOs also perform critical safety tasks such as conducting pat-down searches, operating x-ray machines and hand-held wands, and screening/ reviewing tickets using electronic imaging equipment.

TSO Responsibilities

Provide the traveling public with the highest level of security, customer service, and professionalism
Courteously interact with the public, offering directions and responding to inquiries calmly
Stand and remain standing for periods of up to three hours
Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds or assist others in lifting
Maintain focus in a busy environment with numerous distractions
Make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations
Perform other duties as assigned

TSO Requirements

Education

Candidates must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Skills & Experience

Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent VMD in a positive and professional manner when interacting with the traveling public
Excellent visual observation and identification skills
Sufficient enough skills to operate all advanced technologies and security equipment at screening checkpoints
Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening)
Strong interpersonal skills (responsibility, honesty, and integrity)
Excellent work ethic Ability to work irregular hours and/or shifts including split-shifts, holidays, weekends, overtime, and extended hours
Ability to successfully complete required classroom and on-the-job training and certification exams

Eligibility

Must be 18 or older
Must be a US citizen or US National
Ability to obtain and sustain a successful background investigation including criminal and credit check
Must pass drug and medical screenings and remain compliant throughout employment
Candidates must be prepared to travel for two weeks for mandatory training within the first six months of employment
Successful completion of required training
Continuously meet set medical standards
