Deepti co-founded VMD in 2002 and has served as our CEO since 2005, providing the company with more than 20 years of professional leadership experience. She guides VMD’s overall strategic vision and provides day-to-day management and oversight, growing the company from a small business into a thriving, dynamic organization recognized for its ability to help customers solve complex operational and technical challenges. Deepti is a member of the International Peer Mentoring Program (IPMP) for CEOs, Vistage, and is also currently involved in several industry organizations including AFCEA, IAC, ACT-IAC, Washington Women’s Leadership Initiative (WWLI), Greater Washington Board of Trade, and the Leadership of Greater Washington.

Prior to her role at VMD, Deepti was a Senior Manager at The Lewin Group. Deepti has a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.

Vivek Malhotra co-founded VMD in 2002 and today serves as President. Vivek is a proven leader with more than 17 years of senior leadership and technical experience in providing IT services to both government and private sector customers. He is also a visionary and creative leader, helping bring dimension and differentiation to every project he supports. With this perspective, he helps to ensure VMD brings a fresh and differentiated approach to the work we do for customers. Vivek manages all operational areas of VMD and maintains our core values by building a sustainable infrastructure, bringing even more of a customer focus to our project efforts and ensuring VMD continues to be an employer of choice. He is active in the government contracting and IT space, maintaining a broad and diverse network across agencies, technologies, and the business community.

Prior to co-founding VMD, he served as a technical manager at Titan Secure Solutions (now part of L-3 Technologies), and a former Oracle technical consultant. Vivek is an avid technology investor and advisor to start-ups in the government contracting arena and beyond. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering from Washington University and Computer Science from Knox College.

Gregg has more than 20 years of government IT contracting experience with expertise in leadership, strategy, and growth. At VMD, he leads all growth activities, corporate strategy, technical practices, and marketing. Greggs aggressive approach drives strategic growth while refining corporate capabilities that push boundaries and advance customer missions. Additionally, his talent for innovative solutioning has added value to many important projects, increasing the success rate of major contract bids and bolstering VMD’s three core practice areas of Critical Infrastructure Protection, Agile Engineering, and Cybersecurity. His leadership has led to exponential growth at VMD, adding new business with a wide variety of government agencies such as the DHS, DOJ, and DOS.

Prior to joining VMD, Gregg was Vice President at CACI International where he led the Federal and Civilian IT business with over $1 Billion in new growth. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Science and Technology from James Madison University.

Mike has been with VMD since it was founded in 2002, lending his more than 25 years of experience to the company by leading successful Application Development, Cybersecurity, and IT Modernization efforts for VMD’s major federal clients. Today, he leads all delivery operations with our federal clients, ensuring quality and innovation is brought to the critical federal programs we support.

Prior to joining VMD, Mike served as the Director of Strategy Consulting Services for Etensity, a software development and consulting firm. While at Etensity, he set the strategy for the company’s transition from project-based consulting to technology development outsourcing, while also leading the firm’s strategy consulting practice. Mike has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Radford University.

Manohar brings more than 20 years of experience to VMD’s Federal Civilian line of business as our VP of Operations. He currently leads a portfolio of programs for a variety of government agencies and is responsible for overseeing operations, profit and loss, budget planning, and staffing for numerous projects. He works closely with clients to understand their mission and needs, dissect current challenges, and cooperatively develop innovative solutions that are inclusive of their unique environment and budgetary constraints. Manohar is an accomplished executive leader with a proven background leading various cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines including software development, enterprise operations, SDLC methodologies, agile engineering, risk management/assessments, and user-centric design. His government experience spans a variety of contracts with agencies such as the DHS, DOD, DOJ, and DOL.

Prior to joining VMD, Manohar served as Sr. Director at Tista Science & Technology, where he provided his program management services to various high value projects. He holds a Master of Science in Project Management and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from George Washington University.

Matt brings 15 years of industry experience to VMD’s Defense and Diplomacy line of business as VP of Operations. He is responsible for contract profit and loss, overall operations, and deliverables. Matt drives innovation, growth, and a high level of customer service for mission-critical systems within the Federal government. Matt has nurtured several relationships between VMD management and government customers that has led to significant organic growth for the company. Along with capture, proposals, and teaming development, Matt has also been a key contributor to several successful transitions within some of VMD’s high-profile programs. His experience and portfolio of programs includes agencies such as the DOD, DOS, and DOJ.

Prior to VMD, Matt served as a director at ASRC Federal, lending expertise to a large number of different contracts. He has a Bachelor of Science in Communications from George Mason University and holds several certifications to include Project Management Professional (PMP), SAFe Agilist, ITIL v3, and HDI-Support Center Director.

Jim has more than 25 years of experience in information technology management with expertise that includes cloud computing, storage, data center management, visualization, network security, and disaster recovery. At VMD, Jim continually evolves our technology ecosystem and brings cutting edge solutions to our company and to our customers. He and his team are an instrumental part of our ability to deliver mission-critical work to customers. Jim also oversees all FSO operations, including physical security measures, VMD systems compliance, and adherence to security policies, while additionally providing all VMD employees with the hardware, software, and licensing needed to fulfill their roles effectively.

Before joining VMD, Jim founded Advanced IT Services (AITS), a successful IT services provider. Before that, he was a Senior Systems Architect at Catapult Technologies. Jim is an active Project Management Institute (PMI) member, sits on the boards of three different non-profit organizations, and has had several designs and solutions published in the Dell Power Solutions magazine.

Cherie manages and directs our strategic, mission-driven proposal efforts, helping to foster growth for VMD. She has more than 17 years of proposal development experience in the Civilian, Defense, and Intelligence sectors, which includes proposal management, coordination, editing, desktop publishing, graphic design, technical writing, and solution development. In addition to her proposal responsibilities, Cherie also leads VMD marketing initiatives to enhance the company brand and meet business goals, to include social media strategy and implementation and the creation of internal and external marketing materials and content.

Formerly, Cherie has managed proposal teams from both small and large companies such as MetroStar, ManTech, MVM, USIS, and Mission Essential Personnel; she also successfully implemented company-wide, high quality, and repeatable business development and proposal processes. Cherie has managed single award bids up to $900 million and has a wealth of experience with large IDIQ/GWAC responses valued up to $9 billion. Cherie also supported marketing initiatives at AECOM Technology Corporation. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, both from West Virginia University.

Trey leads business growth and capture activities for VMD with a focus on DHS and other Federal Civilian Agencies. Since joining in 2019, Trey has successfully grown his portfolio revenue by 45%, accumulating major wins at agencies such as TSA, USCIS, and DHS HQ. As the face of both client communications and internal business operations he has led some of our biggest proposal wins, ensured the success of numerous project transitions, and has extended our DHS work to support multiple new customers. Trey has additionally spearheaded numerous proposal efforts, participating in a variety of procurement efforts including orals presentations and code challenges. His commitment to VMD’s vision allows us to deliver tailored solutions, accomplishing VMD’s goal of solving even the most complex customer challenges.

An active member in various GovCon organizations, Trey serves on the AFCEA Bethesda Breakfast Committee. Trey holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Davidson College.

Edwin brings more than 20 years of professional leadership, project management, and IT experience to VMD. As our Director of Agile Program Management, he assists in the design and implementation of enterprise Agile architecture and provides pre-award activities for several opportunities. Edwin develops complex, user-centered solutions and drives project efforts in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Cloud Computing and Infrastructure, Software Development, Application/Network Performance Monitoring, and Data Management across the IT Enterprise. His understanding of these elements has greatly augmented VMD’s ability to effectively meet project deliverables and implement new technologies. Edwin has also served as senior project manager and senior web application developer on a number of other projects across numerous government agencies, including the DOJ, DOS, and DOD.

Edwin previously held a senior operations position at Empower AI, transitioning them from manual work to RPA workflows, increasing organizational cost savings, and improving ROI. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Computer Graphic Design from Rochester Institute of Technology and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Scrum Professional, and a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).

Prentice brings over 22 years of experience to VMD as Director of Cybersecurity Practice. He is responsible for architecting, proposing, and presenting solutions for VMD’s cybersecurity services in the federal space. He ensures overall performance and execution of strategic objectives on cybersecurity contracts, directly supporting VMD’s customers to help shape Federal cybersecurity policy, zero-trust Architecture, minimize threats/risk, and aid in strategic planning. Prentice also leads the company’s Cybersecurity Community of Practice, facilitating in knowledge sharing of lessons learned, best practices, and emerging threats/technologies. Prentice has given strategic architectural direction and leadership services to a variety of government agencies across the DOD, DHS, and Library of Congress.

While serving in the U.S. Army, Prentice provided O&M and logistics support to a wide array of strategic communications equipment at multiple US military installations. He holds a Doctor of Science in Cybersecurity from Capitol Technology University as well as a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University. Prentice holds several certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Scrum Professional – Scrum Master (CSP-SM), and ITIL v3, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

John brings 21 years of experience in system administration, security engineering, and system architecture to VMD as Director of Cybersecurity Solutions. He is responsible for developing solutions that meet federal customer requirements with a security-first approach. He leads VMD’s information security planning process to maintain a comprehensive Cybersecurity Community of Practice at VMD. He establishes, matures, and aligns cybersecurity metrics and operations to clearly demonstrate improvements in Cybersecurity domains and to inform leadership stakeholders. He is responsible for our Cybersecurity Roadmap of Initiatives and projects that continuously raise the bar of both technical cybersecurity and compliance security for VMD and our customers. John initiates and develops projects and products that build VMD's proprietary competitive advantages through Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Networking, and Telecommunications and holds several certifications including Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Network+, Security+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and Splunk Core Certified User.

Sabrina brings over 20 years of federal contracts experience to her current position as VMD’s Director of Contracts. She oversees the cradle-to-grave contracts administration, management, negotiations, and compliance for all VMD’s lines of business and is responsible for maintaining trusted and reliable relationships with our key stakeholders, external customers, and partners. With her intricate knowledge of FAR and compliance regulations, Sabrina is an integral part in VMD’s contracts management process, handling contract issues, tracking revisions, and solving problems with various contract details. She also oversees GWACs, NDAs, TAs, and various other contract administration materials.

Before joining VMD, Sabrina worked for ICF International as Sr. Contracts Administrator, overseeing several multi-million-dollar programs, including NASA USGCRP, for which she received a commendation in contracts support. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Virginia State University.

Katie has over a decade of experience shaping strategic HR initiatives and is instrumental in administering VMD’s comprehensive benefits and compensation programs. Her expertise extends to overseeing critical aspects of our human capital such as the HRIS system, Performance Management, and Training and Development. Before joining VMD, Katie dedicated seven years to various HR positions at Deltek, gaining invaluable insights and honing her skills in the field. Katie's wealth of experience, coupled with her commitment to fostering a positive and effective workplace, makes her an integral part of our team. Katie's leadership and strategic approach continue to drive success and elevate our HR initiatives.

Katie has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Flagler College and holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, showcasing her commitment to excellence in the HR domain.

Steve brings more than 30 years of experience to VMD as our Solution Architect and Technical Lead, working alongside customers to design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions across the IT lifecycle. His expertise has helped VMD win numerous major contracts, allowing us the opportunity to implement effective DevSecOps and Agile solutioning and provide common frameworks for delivering these services in software development, IT service management, and cybersecurity environments. Additionally, his leadership abilities have proven invaluable, providing effective oversight as Program Manager for several high-value projects. He also leads in the development of training frameworks for VMD’s Communities of Practice. His government experience spans a variety of contracts with agencies such as the DHS, DOS, DOJ, and FCC.

Before coming aboard at VMD, Steve lent his skills to CACI as a Senior Program Manager. He currently holds a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from James Madison University and a Master of Business Administration from Averett College. He also holds several professional certifications to include Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Professional – Scrum Master (CSP-SM), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), Certified Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Professional – Product Owner (CSP-PO), Advanced Certified Product Owner (A-CSPO), SAFe 5.0 Agilist (SA), SAFe 5.0 Government Practitioner (SGP), Baan IV ERP Financial, Baan IV ERP Dynamic Enterprise Modeling, and Certified Kanban Management Professional (KMP).

Mike brings 22 years of technical experience to VMD as a key contributor to our Agile Transformation enterprise, serving as VMD’s Solution Architect and DevSecOps Practice Lead. He works to produce solutions for mission-critical systems, leveraging technology to ensure an efficient, impactful resolution to any challenge faced by the customer. Mike spearheaded the establishment of our AWS-hosted technology lab, leveraging various best-in-class tools such as Azure, Jenkins, GIT, and Terraform. The environment features a mature, fully automated CI/CD build pipeline, integrated testing, security scans, and fully automated deployments to a containerized environment. Using technologies like Java and Springboot, he has also led major development programs for agencies such as the DHS, DOJ, and DOS.

In his last role as a technical lead for Accenture, Mike supported a team that completed the first modernization of a suite in the USCIS EGIS portfolio and transitioned functionality from legacy software to containerized Java microservices on schedule and with no defects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the State University of New York and is an active Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Cloud Practitioner.
